Jrock Dir en grey (31)

In trying to locate some LJ icons I KNOW I made years and years ago, I stumbled across my old Photobucket account which had THESE: 31 Dir en grey icons made for an "100 icons" challenge, circa 2007.*

And they're actually pretty good! So I'm sharing them here: feel free to use them, if you wish, just credit tozka/lakertya somewhere.

*Definitely when Dir en grey was still more visual kei than metal, so at the LEAST before 2009.

(Things I remember about these: making the tiny decorative font, outlining the "icon font" so it stood out more, struggling with creating 1px borders, fiddling with fonts over and over again (always). Being very proud of #4 because I think it got the most comments.

What I don't remember: the lord of the aliens thing. Was this an in-joke with the fandom? Probably.)

This set has a few non-computer but still vintage tech things, mostly pulled from Tumblr aesthetic blogs (ha). Did you ever think a stack of VHS tapes could look so cool?

Lady Lovelylocks and the Pixietails was a short-lived 1980s tv show/toy franchise about a group of friends with fabulous hair. I've recently become obsessed with its pastel-colored fantasy art, so much so that I've even started collecting the toys.

So I made some icons!
